Description

This course is designed to cover the required topics as identified for second class engineers in the Transport Canada Publication TP 2293 – Training of Marine Personnel and delivered according to the standards established within TP 15030 – Block Credit Course Accreditation.

Learning Outcomes

  • To provide students with basic understanding of thermodynamics principles.
  • To enable students to understand the movement of heat and how this applies to engines.
  • To give students the mathematical tools to solve basic thermodynamic problems.

Transport Canada Training Certificate

Prerequisites

Candidate must be at least 18 years of age

Notes

The student must achieve a minimum mark of 60% on the final exam and a minimum course mark of 60% to pass this course.
