Description

This course is an introductory course on Decarbonization of the Shipping Industry. This course will introduce students to the basics of carbon emissions, technology used for reduction, current research on blue-green energy, and international regulations.

Learning Outcomes

This course will develop the participant's ability to:

  • Understand ports and ship carbon emissions.
  • Describe technology used to reduce carbon emissions.
  • Summarize the research and development of fuels.
  • Discuss safety and operational risk management.
  • Discuss international regulations.
