Description

This course is designed to provide spill responders with the knowledge to respond quickly and appropriately to an oil spill on both land and water as well as information on the types and characteristics of equipment required in an oil spill cleanup operation.

Learning Outcomes

This course is designed to enable participants to:
  • Develop awareness of the risks associated with oil spill response activities
  • Identify the risks of pollution to their own community
  • Correctly apply oil containment and sorbent equipment
  • Focus on team approach in emergency situations
  • Safely don Personal Protective Equipment for an emergency oil spill
