Description

The purpose of this preparatory course is to prepare participants to demonstrate the ability to apply the knowledge detailed in the oral examination syllabus for the Chief Mate certificate, contained in “TP2293 – The Examination and Certification of Seafarers”.  Candidates for Chief Mate certification should demonstrate the ability to apply the knowledge outlined in this oral examination syllabus by appropriate responses, anticipations and reactions to a range of routine, non-routine and contingency scenarios as presented by the examiner, from the perspective of the duties and responsibilities associated to the validity of the Chief Mate certificate.

A preparatory course does not replace the official Transport Canada exams; rather, it supports your learning, helps you understand the required subject matter, and prepares you to meet Transport Canada’s standards and expectations.

Please note that the official certification examination must still be written directly with Transport Canada.
