Description

This course provides knowledge to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a marine facility personnel with designated security responsibilities, as defined section 18.2, Part B of the ISPS Code, and section 307 of the Canadian Marine Transportation Security Regulations (MTSR), and in particular the duties and responsibilities with respect to assisting the Facility Security Officer in enhancing the security of a marine facility.

Learning Outcomes

Participants who successfully complete this course should be able to undertake the duties and responsibilities as marine facility personnel with designated security duties, as defined section 18.2, Part B of the ISPS Code, and section 307 of the Canadian MTSR, which include the ability

  • to maintain the conditions set out in the marine facility security plan;
  • to have the ability to recognize security threats;
  • to gain knowledge in inspection, control and monitoring activities;
  • to gain knowledge in the proper usage of security equipment and systems.
