The purpose of this preparatory course is to provide participants with knowledge to recognize the fallibility of electronic aids, and the importance of combining different methods and possessing a continuing ability and preparedness to fall back on basic, non-electronic navigation methods at any time.

A preparatory course does not replace the official Transport Canada exams; rather, it supports your learning, helps you understand the required subject matter, and prepares you to meet Transport Canada’s standards and expectations.

Please note that the official certification examination must still be written directly with Transport Canada.
